As we start the week off this Monday, we take a look at the biggest news stories from last week this time. Up first, we look back and the time 2 Chainz might’ve/might not have gotten robbed while in San Francisco. 2 Chainz was in the city to hit the stage as a headliner for the cities Summer Jam event. While in the Bay, he decided to hit a weed shop to pick up some of that good Bay area smoke. From there, things got sketchy. The Internet reported that 2 Chainz got robbed at gunpoint while trying to shop for weed. 2 Chainz would take to twitter and dispute the claims. Thanks to TMZ, a surveillance tape was posted online that showed exactly what happened from Chainz and his crew taking off when the guns came out.
Last week was actually a pretty hectic week for anyone affiliated with Disturbing The Peace. The founder of the label, Ludacris found himself in the middle of a drama when he got jumped while hosting a club night in Atlanta. Luda was at Prive when all hell broke loose. Video footage of Luda going blow for blow with some random person in the club hit the Net immediately.
Wale found himself in the middle of controversy last week, even though it wasn’t him exactly that was causing the drama. His assistant took to twitter to let the world know how she felt about Tiara Thomas. The singer on Wale’s “Bad” song was at one point supposed to sign to Wale’s label. That didn’t happen as Thomas pulled a last-minute audible and signed paperwork with producer Rico Love. Wale has been pretty mum on how he felt about Tiara’s change of heart, but his assistant didn’t hold back at all, taking to twitter to let Thomas know how she felt about her disloyalty.
Hands down, Tthe biggest news of the week last week all revolved around one Kanye West . Kanye’s 6th studio album, “Yeezus,” did the unthinkable. It got leaked. The highly anticipated album wasn’t even completed until the absolute last-minute, but the project still found a way to make it online in full. Kanye didn’t seem to care as much as his label, Def Jam did. Ye had other things on his mind from his future daughter coming into the world all while a woman in Canada was telling the world that she had an affair with Ye, just to retract her statement later.
Yeezy took it all in stride though. His album looks to debut #1 on the Billboard charts next week with a healthy 500,000 copies sold.
