Derrick Rose has a message for Chicago Bulls fans, “I’m not done yet.”

Derrick Rose may be lost for the season, but he hasn’t lost any confidence. After the Chicago Bulls’ Thursday morning shootaround, Rose addressed media for the first time since tearing the medial meniscus in his right knee on Nov. 22.

“This shouldn’t be hard for me at all,” Rose said. “I don’t have anything to complain about. I think the hard part that I have to go through period was living in poverty and not getting what I want. Now I’ve got everything I want, and I just can’t play the game I love playing.”

Rose sat out the entire 2012-13 season after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during the 2012 playoffs. He had shown considerable rust in the 10 games he played this season before the injury, but the 2010-11 league MVP felt he was starting to round back into form.

That’s what’s heartbreaking,” he said. “I think I put two good games together. The only thing I wasn’t used to doing was shooting with the ball in my hands, my dribbling. But I think my catch-and-shoot was good and it was just a matter of time before I was going to catch my rhythm.”

Rose believes his experience in rehabilitating the ACL injury will make this second major knee surgery easier.
