After signing a new $80 million dollar contract with the Washington Wizards, John Wall has been expressing a new confidence on and off the court. Soon after the ink dried on the contract, Wall let the world know that he felt like he was the best point guard in the league.
That statement is totally up for debate, especially when players like Chris Paul, Russell Westbrook and Deron Williams are still playing at a high level. What you can’t debate are numbers and Wall has been putting numbers on the board this season.
After hanging 31 points and 9 assists on the Lakers recently, Fox Sports South reminded their followers what Wall said this summer
.@John_Wall drops 31 points with 9 assists, @WashWizards beat the @Lakers at home, 116-111.

Confidence aside, he’s going to need his team to start putting more wins on the board before he can really be put in that conversation. While he’s close to averaging a double double, (19 points, 8 assists) the Wizards (7-8, 3rd in the Eastern Conference) are still struggling to become more of an afterthought in the Eastern conference.
