More news comes out in the murder of Trill Ent artist Lil Phat. It was reported in April that the Atlanta Police department had a major break in the case of the slain rapper when they had a Russian mobster Mani Chulpayev in custody who they say was instrumental in planning the hit on Phat.
Another break in the case came last Saturday night when Decensae White was extradited for his alleged role in the murder. White was taken from San Mateo County to Fulton County, Georgia to face charges related to the murder of rapper Lil Phat.
White is a former hoops standout for San Francisco State University and ex-roomate of San Francisco 49er Michael Crabtree.
Allegedly a hit on the rapper was put on the rapper in an attempt to silence him regarding information he had on some shady car deals that were taking place. Phat had purchased at least one vehicle from Chulpayev, whose business consisted of re-selling stolen cars.
The mobster’s lawyer, George Plumides insists his client is innocent and there is no substantial evidence to suggest otherwise. “Mani had nothing against this kid, and grieved when he found out he got killed,” he said. “They put him out of business and they have nothing.”
