Macklemore & Ryan Lewis became indie music darlings after their debut album, The Heist raced up the Billboard charts powered by their single, “Thrift Shop”. After numerous Grammy wins, commercials and a world tour, many fans still think of the group as just Macklemore. Mack’s producer, business partner and longtime friend Ryan Lewis still sits in anonymity.
That was never more true than when Ryan Lewis himself went out to ask fans of the group what he does. As part of a segment on the Jimmy Fallon show, Ryan went out to interview fans about what they knew about the group. What he found out was that many didn’t know that it was Lewis who was talking to them, and none of them knew what the hell he did.
