Travi$ Scott, Chance The Rapper, J.Cole, Big Sean, Wale, Meek Mill, French Montana, Tyga, and A$AP Rocky we’re all named to this year, Forbes created a partner list to their annual “Hip-Hop Cash Kings” with the “Hip-Hop Cash Princes” list.
Azelia Banks also made the list, making her the only female ‘prince.’
Judges of the list included Birdman, rap pioneer Fab 5 Freddy, former CEO of Def Jam Kevin Liles and Forbes editors.
J.Cole says that he was honored to be apart of the list and that he’ll elevate to the King’s llist soon.
“I feel honored and privileged to be mentioned in a category with people of this status,” he said. “But I do feel worthy at this point, because I know what I’ve done—and what’s coming
Tyga also mentions that it’s not jsut about the music, but the branding of an artist.
“It’s not just about rap,” he says. “It’s about branding and what you represent, your whole subculture. If you look at artists … it’s just building something, a brand that people can relate to on a day to day [basis], that’s what we do.”
